Integrity Homes Challenge Wanaka 2022 Update!

Integrity Homes Challenge Wanaka 2022 Update!

We hope you all had a great finish to the summer racing season and wanted to give you an update on what we have in store for 2022! We sent out a post event competitor survey and have worked through the findings to make sure we are continuing to improve our event and the competitor experience for you all.

There was resoundingly positive feedback for our new home of Glendhu Bay Station and Bike Glendhu, which has meant the Board is thrilled to announce we will be staying at this amazing venue for 2022.

As safety is tantamount to our event, we will be capping the number of competitors to 300 individuals, 75 teams and 75 Aqua Bikers individuals. This is to assure that the bike course is a competitive, enjoyable one, as well as safe for all. This decision also allows us to remove the no-passing zone on the Bluffs, which we received feedback on.

We will be improving the bike turnaround and also facilitating more spectator vantage points on the bike and run course.

The Pros will start earlier and also we will provide more buoys on the swim course for sighting.

The run course was challenging in the heat we will all attest to, so we will be changing the route to incorporate more shade and take runners off the Motatapu road. These changes will be outlined in July.

We will be also announcing our plan for improving our carbon footprint in the coming months with some exciting initiatives being brought online.

Bike racking for Challenge Wanaka Half teams on Friday will be brought back in 2022, which will allow you more time to browse our Expo. This was a huge success and we look forward to improving the layout and experience for competitors and exhibitors.

We want to thank everyone who has given us feedback and helped us through the turbulent times of 2020 and 2021, the Integrity Homes Team really appreciate your support.
