With over 1,630 full and half distance athletes from 29 nations, 900 junior athletes and a world-class pro field, the world’s most scenic triathlon, CHALLENGEWANAKA, is gearing up for the biggest event yet this Saturday, 20 February.

International athletes Yvonne van Vlerken (NED), Laura Siddall (GBR), Alyssa Godesky (USA), Maik Twelsiek (GER) and Joe Skipper (GBR) are just some of the top pros flying to New Zealand’s South Island to take on defending Kiwi champions Dylan McNeice and Gina Crawford plus local Wanaka favourite, Dougal Allan.
The elite athletes are joined by over 1,600 age group athletes competing for the New Zealand national title in the full distance and ITU Long Distance World Championships qualification in the half distance.
In addition, over 900 local school children will line up on Friday 19 February to take part in the Puzzling World Junior Challenge Wanaka in the region’s largest primary school event.
