Newton Running joins Challenge Wanaka
Since their launch in March 2007, Newton Running has revolutionized the running shoe market with its line of lightweight, technical running shoes designed to help runners run more efficiently with less muscle fatigue. Founded by a group of elite runners, coaches and inventors in Boulder, Colorado, Newton Running uses patented technology inspired by Sir Isaac Newton's elemental laws of motion. Newton's third law of motion states that there is an equal and opposite reaction for every action. Newton Running applies the Science of Motion with a design that absorbs the energy of a runner's impact on the ground and then releases it to propel the runner forward.
Worn by triathletes around the globe, including world champions Craig Alexander and Paula Newby-Fraser, Newton's propulsion technology, combined with a running technique that focuses on a midfoot-forefoot strike rather than heel striking, helps runners achieve maximum efficient performance.
Challenge Wanaka race director, Victoria Murray-Orr said the synergy between Newton Running and Challenge Wanaka was excellent with both working towards improving athletes' experience at elite and recreational levels.
"Challenge Wanaka is renowned as the world's most scenic iron distance triathlon and our focus is on ensuring the athletes enjoy a race experience that is as memorable as the scenery, whatever their ability," she said. "We expect the same level of commitment from our sponsors, hence why we have chosen to work with Newton with their cutting edge technology and understanding of athlete requirements."
Newton Running will also take on the run leg sponsorship of Challenge Wanaka. Challenge Wanaka is part of the global series of TEAMChallenge events with six half and full iron distance races in Germany, France and Spain as well as New Zealand. For further information visit www.newtonrunning.com.
