Challenge Wanaka announces on-line entries and international travel partners

LAKE WANAKA, New Zealand (March 22, 2008) - With just under a week to go until the "Early Bird" entry fees close, athletes can now enter the world’s most scenic iron-distance event, Challenge Wanaka, on-line through the event’s secure web server atwww.challenge-wanaka.com. The special prices of $450 for individuals and $595 for teams are valid until midnight on March 28, 2008, after which the price will increase to $550 for individuals and $695 for teams.

Following the significant international interest in this year’s event, Challenge Wanaka has teamed up with two specialist travel agents to promote the event in the USA, UK and Europe for 2009.

Nirvana Europe is the leading triathlon sports travel company in the UK and Europe providing specialist travel and accommodation packages to sporting events worldwide. As part of their triathlon portfolio of events, Nirvana Europe is collaborating with Challenge Wanaka as the official travel and accommodation managers for the UK.
 
For athletes looking for the ultimate triathlon training camp, Pacific Cycle Tours has put together a unique tour featuring top pro athletes. Athletes can tour New Zealand with pro-athletes Marc Pschebizin (GER) (Challenge Wanaka winner '08) and Susanne Buckenlei (GER) and local triathlete Axel Reiser on a 22-day swim-bike-run around the South Island with the end goal of Challenge Wanaka '09. Upon successful application media will be forwarded race coverage protocol, details of the media conference and responses to any special requests.
